rachel

hi again! thanks SO MUCH for the vaccine info. I'm going to post your blog in our waiting room for the edification of some of our patients. if they don't believe the major american and international medical societies, perhaps what they need is a blog to counter all the other blogs they've been using to inform their crucial life decisions.

John Richter

Wow, rachel. That's a hip pediatrics office you've got there. My pediatrician's office is full of articles loaded with rusty trombone references too, but we had to do a lot of research to find a place like that.

Rich

Dude. I think my favorite part is where it says: "A lot of my best friends are black, but they don't belong in the white house."

That's right - I read that far. Because I am a hopeless racist.

Anyway - I dig it because even the racists are half-hearted racists these days. It's like another wacky Seinfeld episode, only with a headline suggesting that we crucify our president-elect.

Amy

Dude...

Alec is now 22 months and still waking 3 to 5 times a night. But it's not like there has been no progress made. He has learned to not only cry, but also scream like he is being attacked by a rabid bear. So imagine as I finally slip into a disturbed anxious-prone sleep, what seems like seconds later, the noises come like there is a mass murder taking place somewhere in the house. Which I'd maybe even ignore at this point except the killer sounds really close by.

I *would* kill myself but in no way do I have the energy for that at the present time.

I've let the kid cry it out, I'd let him not cry it out. I've discussed it. Pleaded, Threatened. No avail. Still does it.

But anyway, thanks for the advice- I did miss that 5 month mark- big boo boo!

Despite what this kid has done to me (starting with aging me 20 years due to premature cellular death from lack of restorative sleep), I will say he is stinking cute every morning when I stumble in there and his tousled curls, dimples, and little gladful babbling go into full adorable mode.

Anyway, glad you came back- for a day a year? (wtf?) I hope we can hear more from you. I work for a technology company too so we both know you need an outlet. Actually, a comedian in a technology company? Match made in Heaven!

Take care and thanks for the (very fun) advice!
